Content Moderation Policy
Moderation Philosophy §
Tailorte believes that effective moderation requires clarity, consistency, and proportionality. Enforcement actions must be commensurate with the severity and frequency of violations. Tailorte does not moderate to suppress legitimate creative expression or to favour commercial interests over community standards.
Moderation Architecture §
Automated Detection §
Tailorte deploys automated tools including:
- Hash-based image matching to detect known CSAM, reported immediately to NCMEC and relevant EU bodies.
- AI-assisted classification of violent, sexually explicit, and prohibited content.
- Spam detection, bot behaviour detection, and abnormal engagement pattern identification.
- Link-scanning for known malware, phishing, and scam URLs.
Automated systems are supplementary to human review.
User Reporting §
Any user may report content or accounts through the in-platform reporting tool for: copyright infringement, impersonation, harassment, spam, hate speech, sexual or violent content, dangerous content, and undisclosed commercial content.
Human Review §
Tailorte's Trust & Safety team reviews reported content, user-submitted reports, appeals against enforcement actions, and escalated cases involving potential legal liability or criminal activity.
Enforcement Actions §
Content-Level Actions §
Account-Level Actions §
Strike System §
Strikes are cumulative within a rolling 12-month period. Severe violations bypass the strike system entirely.
| Strike | Action | Duration | Severity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strike 1 | Formal warning. Content removed. | Permanent record | Warning |
| Strike 2 | Posting restriction. Content removed. | 7 days | Restriction |
| Strike 3 | Full account suspension. May appeal. | 30 days | Suspension |
| Strike 4+ | Permanent account termination. | Permanent | Terminated |
Immediate Termination Offences §
The following result in immediate permanent termination without prior warnings:
- Any child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or sexual content involving minors.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII / 'revenge pornography').
- Credible threats of violence against identifiable individuals.
- Organised coordinated harassment campaigns.
- Terrorism or violent extremism promotion or recruitment.
- Creating accounts to evade a prior permanent ban.
Context Consideration §
Tailorte's moderation team applies contextual judgement before enforcement. Factors considered include:
- The apparent intent of the content (satire, education, journalism, creative expression).
- The account's prior posting history and violation record.
- Whether the creator has provided explanation or context in captions.
- Whether the content was proactively reported or only flagged by automation.
- Whether the content is directed at a specific individual or addresses a topic generally.
Geo-Restricted Content §
Content that is lawful in one jurisdiction but unlawful in another may be restricted to specific geographies rather than removed globally. Tailorte applies geo-restrictions where technically feasible and proportionate.
Notifications & Transparency §
When an enforcement action is taken, the affected user receives notification explaining: which policy was violated, the specific content in question, the enforcement action applied and its duration, and information about the appeals process.
Tailorte publishes a biannual Transparency Report disclosing aggregate enforcement statistics, government requests, and copyright takedown volumes.
Appeals Process §
Who May Appeal §
Any user who has had content removed or an account restricted, suspended, or terminated may submit an appeal within 30 days.
How to Appeal §
- Submit through the appeals form in Account Settings or by emailing appeals@tailorte.com.
- Include your account information, the specific action being appealed, and grounds for the appeal.
- You may submit additional context, evidence, or clarification.
Review Timelines §
